<title>Project management maturity model ELOT1429: An application methodology</title>
<link>http://okeanis.lib2.uniwa.gr/xmlui/handle/123456789/608</link>
<description>Project management maturity model ELOT1429: An application methodology
Renold, Vasili
This paper presents the findings of an investigation to evaluate the applicability level of&#13;
project management maturity model (PMMM) ELOT1429, a Greek standard developed by the Hellenic Standardization Organization (ELOT) and released in 2009. The investigation is performed within a private sector organization that may provide information technology (IT) services as scope of public interest projects in cooperation with government agencies in the context of the 4th European Community Support Framework (CSF). Implicit within  the model's description is an idea that project performance improves. However, the existing empirical evidence to understand the comparative effectiveness of ELOT1429 approach in project management is absent and practical application is limited. Moreover, there are a number of key factors addressed by international PMMMs that have to be considered for effectiveness and efficiency in project management. The paper critically evaluates the new&#13;
standards' assets in contrast to the existing international PMMMs and addresses a number of differences between them in the area of organizational structure, project management methodology, and resource management and performance improvement. A significant knowledge gap that the organization faces derives from the parallelism of ELOT1429 and applied ISO9001. A survey that investigates the organizational culture orientation out of 21 employees revealed a significant gap. The paper concludes by proposing a system approach in adopting the new standard, by addressing the PMMMs’ gap analysis, the organizational culture orientation based on organizational culture assessment instrument (OCAI) and the project management knowledge gap.

<link>http://okeanis.lib2.uniwa.gr/xmlui/handle/123456789/607</link>
<description>The risk management process on transport infrastructure works
Arkadinos, Georgios-Dionisis
For many countries, in the last decades the construction field and specifically the transport infrastructure projects are the lever for their high growth. The same thing applies in Greece since today.&#13;
Through this paper I will present theories and studies of the risk management process in the construction industry and how the risk estimation of a project can be affected.&#13;
In the end it will be an evaluation of the risk management procedure that is followed by the Greek construction firms through a quantitative research, it will present the weaknesses and the oversights of the risk management process and how the mistakes could be minimized in the specific process of the project management.

<title>Lessons learned from project closing - A case study in Greek public sector strategic planning and change management</title>
<link>http://okeanis.lib2.uniwa.gr/xmlui/handle/123456789/606</link>
<description>Lessons learned from project closing - A case study in Greek public sector strategic planning and change management
Arsenis, Dionysios
This thesis draws lessons learned from a major project closing by a state owned enterprise in Greece. The apparent failure of leadership to overcome the challenges and capitalize on opportunities is examined. The literature review focuses on the related areas of leadership, strategic planning and change management. Though significant shortfalls are noted in each of those areas during the project closing, none of these are found to be the fundamental cause for the organizational change failure. A PESTL, stakeholder analysis and interviews reveal numerous problems traceable to systemic Ministerial political interference in the governance of the organization. Assuming an end of political interference in organization governance, a SWOT analysis develops recommendations for new strategies for the organization.
